Chronicle of Higher Education: Most Clery Act Training Programs Fail to Connect with Students

Last month, the Chronicle of Higher Education panned what they called “A Scripted Response to Sexual Assault.” Reviewing five educational programs offering online training on preventing sexual violence, the article cites students’ reactions to one widely-used program as “the acting was horrible,” and “if I could sum it up in one word, I would say ‘cheesy.’”

While Campus Answers is just now announcing our comprehensive training system on violence against women, assisting colleges in VAWA/ Clery Act and Title IX compliance, we believe the extra time in development was well worth the wait. The use of high quality video and social media tools ensures a high level of engagement among the student population, helping students recognize and protect against sexual violence. The Student Empower Leader’s Guide is available as a free download.
